Beautiful Spanish days

Now that summer is here, are you dreaming about perfect days and memories for a lifetime? I am sure that you will find them in Spain, as this is one of the most amazing countries in the world. Spain is an extremely diverse European country that attracts millions of visitors every year. You might be amazed to learn that these impressive numbers are the ones for the Spanish tourism, but considering its unequaled beauty, it is completely understandable. Spain has breathtaking views to offer, dominated either by the high peaks of the mountain ranges or by the shallow, crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean, it has outstanding monuments that tell the story of its agitated but amazing past, cosmopolite cities, old, traditional villages and a huge list of regions that wait to be discovered and explored. It really is the perfect destination for any type of tourist, because it has something attractive and interesting for each and every single one of them!

Visiting the Asturias

Asturias is one of the most beautiful regions in Spain, having Oviedo as capital city and single province. High mountain ranges guard the region; the most famous ones are the Cordillera Cantabrica, which offer spectacular natural preserves: the Somiedo Natural Park and the Picos de Europa National Park. You will absolutely love Asturias for the green landscapes and for the fact that spectacular beaches wait for their tourists at just a few kilometers away from the high peaks of the mountains. The Way of Saint James is a major attraction for Asturias, as this is one of the most renowned pilgrimage routes in the world. The pre-Romanic monuments you’ll find here are numerous and they all tell the story of Asturias’ past, so make sure you visit them all!

Visiting the cities

If you want to visit the capital of the region, then go to Oviedo. Oviedo will be there, waiting for you with a series of monuments dating back from pre-romanic times and with a remarkable Cathedral. You then have to visit Gijon, which is a historic city; it was founded by the Romans and it now is a city with a very active cultural life. Last but not least, go to Aviles, a very old settlement of the Cantabric area, a city where the old and the new meet in a perfect balance. Enjoy!
